August Bicycles - Bespoke Bicycle Design and Manufacture
We are a multi award-winning bespoke bicycle design and manufacture workshop based in Bawburgh, Norfolk. We are also a committed vegan household of three (four if you include our beloved workshop pooch, Boo Boo, which we absolutely do). We decided that it was time to put our business where our ethics are, so to speak and as such, we have decided to stop offering bicycles fitted with any animal-derived accessories. In other words, all our frames and bicycles will be fully vegan when made and when they leave us.
Of course, customers are welcome to make their own choices and to fit any parts and accessories they wish, once the bicycle has left us, we just won't be sourcing or profiting from them. This means that we will not supply any animal derived versions of items that are typically leather, such as saddles and bar tape. We are more than happy to help with synthetic alternatives, however.
We do not judge other people's choices and nor do we try to influence others to follow our lifestyle, so non-vegan customers are always more than welcome, but please be prepared for an oat milk latte when you visit and no chocolate Hobnobs!
As we make inroads into becoming a greener operation and as carbon-neutral as possible, we see this as a common sense and easy step to take and hope you will support us in this.
